Are you going to download at 7000 MB+ per second? No, because your Internet doesn’t support it? Then you don’t need it.
Are you transferring hundreds of gigs of data across a 40gbit fiber LAN (which is STILL only ~5000 MB/s!!!)? No? Then you don’t need it.
You also don’t need a PCIE 4.0 drive. But I like the Samsung 980 Pro. Alternatively, get a Samsung 970 Evo Plus. (3.0)
990 drives were plagued with firmware problems. 5.0 drives are notoriously hard to cool as well.
Basically nobody has a use case for them right now.
